Commission greenlights Austria's final €306 million payment request
The European Commission positively assessed Austria's fifth and final payment request of €306 million under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). Austria has completed all 8 outstanding milestones and 10 targets, bringing total disbursements to €3.96 billion and reaching 100% delivery of its recovery plan. Flagship measures include financing 19 major projects cutting greenhouse gas emissions in industry and transport, upgrading the Koralm railway (cutting Graz–Klagenfurt travel time from three hours to 45 minutes), expanding gigabit broadband to over 80,000 households, and funding research in quantum computing, microelectronics and hydrogen.
