EU Launches Global Health Resilience Initiative

The EU launched its Global Health Resilience Initiative in New York, calling for uniting Europe's investments, partnerships and expertise to address global health challenges. From 2021 to 2025, the EU mobilized over EUR 6 billion in global health funding and, with the WHO, supports stronger health systems in 115 countries. Through Global Gateway, the EU and its Member States mobilized more than EUR 2 billion for regional manufacturing of vaccines, medicines and health technologies in Africa, with production sites taking shape in Senegal, Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda and South Africa.
