    CATA Aviation Conference cabin safety and service showcase held in Beijing

    The fourth China Air Transport Association (CATA) Aviation Conference was held at the China National Convention Center Phase II in Beijing from 17 to 19 September. During the event, cabin safety and service culture showcases ran twice daily, with more than 80 cabin crew representatives from 20 airlines taking part across three segments: professional image, service brand and safety knowledge interaction.     BTS Adjusts Some Release Dates, Citing Appropriations Lapses and Workforce Reductions

    The U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) is adjusting its release schedule under 5 CFR Part 1321, saying multiple lapses in appropriations and workforce reductions at other federal agencies have delayed some regular data input deliveries, pushing some statistical products later than planned. Affected releases include April 2026 transportation sector unemployment, average air fares for Q4 2025 and Q1 2026, and June 2026 domestic and international airline traffic data.

    US August Transportation PPI: Air Services Up 7.6% Year on Year

    The U.S. Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) reported that the transportation equipment Producer Price Index (PPI) rose 2.6% from August 2025 to August 2026. Over the same 12-month period, transportation services PPI varied by mode: air +7.6%, rail +1.4%, truck +14.3%, water +16.7%, and arrangement of freight and cargo +2.2%. By comparison, all services (transportation and non-transportation) rose 5.1%, with transportation contributing 15.6% to the overall increase in the PPI for all services.
