UK FCDO updates Ukraine travel advice: all travel advised against in many areas

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) updated its Ukraine travel advice on 15 September 2026. The FCDO advises against all travel to Crimea, to within 50km of the Belarus border in Volyn, Rivne and Zhytomyr, and to all other regions of Ukraine except some western regions; it advises against all but essential travel to Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Ternopil, Chernivtsi and Lviv. The advice notes the Russian invasion is ongoing, with over 5,000 drones and over 100 missiles launched on average per month over the last three months, around 150 ballistic missiles launched in July 2026, and over 2,000 civilian casualties in each of those months. Ukraine's airspace remains closed.
