SAP Concur released its 2019 Business Traveler Report based on responses from 7,850 business travelers in 19 global markets. The survey found that more than three in four female business travelers have experienced harassment, and 58% of respondents changed travel arrangements because they felt unsafe. Among LGBTQ+ travelers, 95% have hidden their sexual orientation. Additionally, 43% of respondents forfeited expenses in 2018, averaging $893.

SAP Concur published an article explaining machine learning (ML) applications in travel, expense, and invoice solutions. It describes Concur Invoice using SAP Leonardo to extract and classify data from invoice images; Concur Expense integrating with Office 365 to create expense entries from emailed receipts; ExpenseIt using ML to turn receipt photos into completed expense reports; Concur Detect by AppZen auditing 100% of expense reports; and ML use in TripIt and Concur Locate.

Amtrak Joins Concur TripLink Ecosystem

SAP Concur announced that Amtrak will join the Concur TripLink ecosystem of suppliers, giving corporate customers better visibility and management of Amtrak bookings made through Concur Travel or directly via Amtrak's website or mobile app. In the future, TripLink customers will also be able to connect their Amtrak Guest Rewards account to their SAP Concur profile to earn points. Since its 2013 launch, TripLink has evolved into an ecosystem used by over 14,000 companies and over 11 million business travelers. Amtrak covers over 21,000 route miles across 46 states, the District of Columbia, and three Canadian provinces, operating over 300 trains daily to more than 500 destinations.
