DoorDash launches new restaurant delivery features including DashOS

On October 1, 2026, DoorDash launched multiple new restaurant delivery features at the Dash Forward 2026 event. It introduced the DashOS growth platform, integrating marketplace orders, direct ordering channels, reservations, loyalty, and marketing into a single back-end system. A text-message ordering feature for U.S. iOS users has entered testing, allowing users to search menus, generate carts, and complete checkout within a text conversation. In addition, DoorDash Air drone delivery has been piloted in Northern California, with an average door-to-door delivery time of under 5 minutes during testing. Currently, these features are in the launch, testing, and pilot stages, respectively.
