Weixin County Develops Red Study-Tour Tourism

Weixin County, Zhaotong, Yunnan, is developing red study-tour tourism based on the former site of the Zhaxi Conference, building a "five halls, three sites" red education matrix. According to an October 2026 report, the locality has trained young docents for 3 sessions, 126 person-times, and launched the "Marching Toward Victory: Zhaxi Conference" special exhibition for touring exhibitions in Shanghai and Yuxi. The report says that in 2025 Weixin County received 3.3155 million tourist visits and achieved total tourism revenue of 2.461 billion yuan, and that in 2026 the number of study-tour groups and Party-spirit education groups grew substantially. The locality also integrates "red + green + ethnic culture" to develop cultural and creative products such as bamboo weaving and batik, driving villagers' income growth.
