European Commission proposes 2028-2034 Multiannual Financial Framework budget proposal

One year ago, the European Commission already put forward the next Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF) budget proposal, covering 2028-2034. On 7 October 2026, EU Commissioner Serafin delivered opening remarks in the plenary debate of the European Parliament in Strasbourg on this framework, on the topic of the 2028-2034 Multiannual Financial Framework for a strong and resilient Europe. The proposal is currently still at the stage of debate in the European Parliament, and no reports of its adoption or entry into force have been seen.
