OpenTable and Airwallex partner to expand prepaid dining payments

On October 22, 2026, Hospitality Technology reported that OpenTable reached a commercial partnership with global financial platform Airwallex, making Airwallex the official payment provider for the OpenTable restaurant network. The partnership initially launched in the United States and Canada, and will expand to Australia and Mexico later this year. Restaurants can use Airwallex to process guest prepaid deposits and "prepaid Experiences" tickets, and gain cross-border acquiring and multi-currency settlement capabilities. OpenTable internal platform benchmark data shows that prepaid experiences reduced no-show rates by 45% and late cancellations by 66%. The partnership has currently been implemented in the United States and Canada, and will subsequently advance to Australia and Mexico as planned.
