Egypt pushes for longer tourist stays and higher spending

After visitor numbers had already met the target, Egypt shifted its focus to making tourists stay longer and spend more. A report dated October 29, 2026, said that nearly 90% of planned rooms in Egypt's hotel projects under construction are in the high-end or luxury tier, to match this positioning; but the report also noted that the other links in high-end itineraries are harder to deliver, with the best Nile cruises, guides and transport long since sold out in advance.
