BTS Updates County and Congressional District Transportation Profiles

The Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) updated county and congressional district transportation profiles in September 2026, covering all 435 districts of the 119th Congress across 50 states and the District of Columbia. All profiles switched to 2024 district and county boundary data; population and housing data come from the 2024 American Community Survey five-year estimates; airports and bridges are 2025 data, and rail and maritime are 2026 data. Maritime statistics were updated because the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers consolidated three layers of old data into a single dataset, making the count of active operating dock facilities more accurate.
