Tongcheng Travel data shows search interest in short-duration destination small groups rose over 110% year on year for the 2026 Mid-Autumn and National Day holiday. As of September 29, searches for 'half-day tour' and 'one-day tour' keywords on the platform rose 128% year on year, and one-day premium small-group orders grew over 70%. Bookings for 2-3 day short-haul small groups and intercity combo products rose over 65%, with families and group travellers dominating. Short-duration small groups unbundle travel services rather than forcing flight and hotel packages.
