Alaska Airlines Seeks to Join American's Antitrust-Immune Joint Ventures

Alaska Airlines and American Airlines announced plans to propose that Alaska join American's antitrust-immune transatlantic and transpacific joint ventures. American's Atlantic Joint Business, formed in 2010, is a JV with British Airways, Iberia, Finnair, Aer Lingus and Level; its Pacific Joint Business with Japan Airlines launched in 2011. The carriers expect to file for approval and antitrust immunity with the U.S. Department of Transportation and other relevant international regulators in the coming months. Alaska and American already have a partnership and are both part of the Oneworld alliance.
