Xinjiang reviews and approves multiple cultural tourism development documents

On November 2, 2026, the Tourism Industry Development Leading Group of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region held a meeting to deploy high-quality development of the cultural tourism industry. The meeting reviewed and approved the "Autonomous Region Scenic Area Management Responsibility List," the "Autonomous Region Implementation Plan on Supporting Ili Prefecture in Building an Internationally Influential Ice and Snow Cluster Area," and the "Xinjiang Rural Tourism High-Quality Development Action Guidelines," and agreed in principle that Urumqi will host the 2027 Xinjiang Culture and Tourism Development Conference. The relevant documents have now been reviewed and approved; the matter of Urumqi hosting the 2027 conference is agreed in principle and remains subject to subsequent implementation.
