European Commission sues Slovakia over temporary storage electronic system for air transport
Commission decides to refer Slovakia to the Court of Justice of the European Union for failing to deploy the electronic system for Temporary Storage for air transport
On 1 October 2026, the European Commission decided to bring Slovakia (case number INFR(2025)2021) before the Court of Justice of the European Union on the grounds that it had not deployed the temporary storage electronic system for air transport as required by the Union Customs Code. The report states that the deadline for deployment of the system was extended to 31 December 2023. The case has now entered the Court of Justice of the European Union litigation stage, and Slovakia has not yet completed deployment of the system.
