Hyatt files opposition against Hilton over Select trademark

Hyatt has filed an opposition with the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office, seeking to prevent Hilton from registering the name "Select by Hilton," based on its registered Hyatt Select trademark and two pending applications. Hyatt subsequently filed to suspend the case with Hilton's consent in order to pursue settlement negotiations. Spokespeople for both parties told Skift that they have jointly agreed to suspend the proceedings and continue seeking an acceptable resolution. The case is currently suspended, and the progress of settlement negotiations has not been disclosed.
