On October 10, 2026, according to China Tourism News, during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, Beijing Tongzhou will focus on integrating culture and tourism with the city, building a world-class tourism destination at a high level, and advancing the integration of culture, commerce, tourism, sports, and exhibitions with greater efforts. Tongzhou will leverage the leading role of the Universal Resort, promote the completion and operation of the Vertex Park and Haichang Ocean Park, complete and operate the Sixth Ring Road High Line Park, and connect key areas such as the Grand Canal 5A-level Cultural Tourism Scenic Area, the Canal Business District, and the Urban Green Heart, to build a new cultural tourism development pattern of "one core leading, two zones supporting, two belts connecting, three towns breaking through, and全域 integration."
