Passports Ready, AI in Hand: Agoda Reveals H ...
On November 4, 2026, Agoda released the 2027 Asia Travel Trends report (also called the 2027 Asia Travel Pulse report), with a survey covering 11 Asian markets and 3,395 respondents. The report says 53% of Asian travelers have used AI to plan trips, up from 33% last year; among them, Vietnam rose from 30% to 63%, and Japan from 20% to 48%. 38% of respondents plan to focus on outbound travel in 2027, up from 24% last year; 57% still prefer to book hotels themselves rather than hand it to an AI agent. The same report also shows 61% of surveyed Asian travelers are willing to book an entire trip on a single platform; local payment methods (33%) and customer service in their native language (21%) are the most important factors affecting the localized experience, with Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines valuing local payment most, and South Korea and Japan placing more importance on native-language support. Agoda says it currently supports nearly 100 alternative payment methods and 39 languages.
