China Railway Group launches nationwide train number coding reform

On October 16, 2026, China Railway Group launched a nationwide railway train number coding reform, and will comprehensively optimize and adjust the letter prefixes and numerical number ranges of current train numbers in 2 batches in late November and late December, while simultaneously implementing the new edition of the "Train Number Coding Regulations."
