Xinjiang Issues Regulations on the Promotion and Management of Tourist Homestays

On October 9, 2026, according to China Tourism News, the 31st meeting of the Standing Committee of the 14th People's Congress of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region deliberated and passed the "Regulations of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on the Promotion and Management of Tourist Homestays," consisting of 32 articles, to take effect on February 1, 2027. The regulations define tourist homestays as small-scale accommodation facilities that utilize local residential houses and other resources, with owners or operators and managers participating in reception, and apply the relevant national industry management regulations for the hotel industry. Currently, the regulations have been deliberated and passed, and the effective date has not yet arrived.
