Choice Hotels Narrows Its Revenue Gap, but Its Upscale Brands Still Trail
On November 2–3, 2026, Choice Hotels disclosed its Q3 2026 results and provided an update on AI tools. On performance, the company's systemwide RevPAR rose 3.9% year over year to $67.41, U.S. RevPAR rose 3.8% year over year to $62.56, and occupancy rose 160 basis points to 61.9%; the company raised its full-year RevPAR growth forecast to 1.5%–2.5%. Extended-stay hotels have achieved double-digit room growth for 13 consecutive quarters, accounting for more than 40% of the U.S. pipeline, with a global pipeline of 78,200 rooms. CEO Dominic Dragisich said October RevPAR was about 7%. Economy hotel RevPAR grew 3.5%, exceeding the industry level of about 2.5%, but upper-upscale brands still lagged the industry average. On AI, Dragisich said on the earnings call that direct visits to choicehotels.com from LLMs increased more than tenfold year over year and currently account for about 1% of total website traffic. The report did not give the absolute value of that traffic, the statistical period, or the year-over-year base period, nor did it explain when the AI tools launched or their coverage.
