Hilton launches points-offset digital checkout
Hilton Becomes First Major Hotel Brand to Offer Digital Solution to Pay with Points
On October 21, 2026, Hilton announced the launch of the Pay with Points feature, allowing Hilton Honors members with Silver status and above to offset eligible hotel spending with points during digital checkout in the Hilton Honors app, without going to the front desk. The feature is currently available at 150 participating hotels in the U.S., is expected to expand to more than 800 by the end of 2026, and to roll out fully to more than 6,000 participating hotels in the U.S. and Canada in early 2027. Hilton said its research showed 70% of surveyed members were interested in paying for on-property spending with points. On October 22, Hotel Dive reported that the feature is available to Silver, Gold, Diamond and Diamond Reserve members, allowing points to be applied at the digital checkout step without front desk assistance; the report said Hilton stated this is the first time a major hotel brand has offered fully digital checkout points redemption, but did not disclose the redemption ratio. On October 24, Hospitality Technology reported that the feature allows members to directly offset incidental charges such as dining, parking and spa with points at the app's digital checkout step, launching first at 150 U.S. hotels, with plans to expand to more than 6,000 hotels in North America by early 2027.
