UK CAA proposes establishing stakeholder advisory groups and seeks comments
CAA considers establishing more stakeholder panels to improve engagement and rulemaking
On 6 November 2026, the UK Civil Aviation Authority (UK CAA) published a notice publicly seeking comments on establishing a series of new stakeholder advisory bodies, with the aim of improving the way it communicates with industry and stakeholders. The proposal is intended to let stakeholders participate earlier in policy-making and rule-making, with a structure similar to the existing advisory mechanisms of EASA and the FAA. If feedback supports it, advisory groups in areas such as airports, air traffic control, commercial aviation, general aviation, rotorcraft, medical, safety management, and unmanned aircraft systems may be established within the next two years, with the first batch of groups tentatively scheduled to hold meetings next summer. The matter is currently at the consultation stage and has not yet been established.
