2026 Hunan International Culture and Tourism Festival opens in Furong Town, Xiangxi

The 2026 Hunan International Culture and Tourism Festival opened on November 6 in Furong Town, Xiangxi Prefecture, co-hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and the Xiangxi Prefecture Party Committee and Prefecture Government. At the opening ceremony, the second batch of premium inbound tourism routes for the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area was released, totaling 4 routes of 7 to 8 days each, linking the five cities and prefectures of Zhangjiajie, Xiangxi Prefecture, Huaihua, Shaoyang and Changde, and will go online on platforms including Trip.com. A centralized signing ceremony was also held on site, and the Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area Development Alliance was launched at the same time. The event has currently reached the opening and route release stage; progress on subsequent platform launch and alliance operations remains to be reported.
