Tourism Science residential wellness thematic seminar held in Shanghai

On October 31, 2026, the Tourism Science residential wellness thematic seminar was held in Shanghai, hosted by Shanghai Institute of Tourism and the College of Tourism of Shanghai Normal University. At the meeting, the National Residential Wellness Industry Industry-Education Integration Community was officially established, and the country's first set of professional textbook series on residential wellness operations and management was released simultaneously. The report mentioned that in July this year the Ministry of Education had approved the addition of the higher vocational major "Residential Wellness Operations and Management," which will focus on cultivating composite talents with skills in product design, resource integration, elderly-appropriate services, and digital operations. Current progress is the establishment of the community and the release of the textbooks.
