Shazhou Red Tourism Scenic Area Red Study Tours and Cultural Tourism Development

Shazhou Village, Rucheng County, Hunan, has developed cultural tourism by relying on the red resource of the "Half a Quilt." According to an October 9, 2026 report, since the opening of the "Warmth of Half a Quilt" special exhibition hall, it has received a cumulative total of more than 5.7 million visitors; in 2025 it undertook the "My Shazhou Trip" red study practice activity, with nearly 100,000 primary and secondary school students participating. The locality uses an integrated model of "red cultural tourism + green industry + ancient Yao charm" to drive the development of homestays, catering, Yao embroidery, and other business forms, enabling villagers to find employment and increase income at their doorsteps. The report says that in 2025, the per capita disposable income of villagers increased from 13,800 yuan in 2019 to 28,000 yuan, and the village collective economic income exceeded 1.1 million yuan.
