Beijing issues measures to develop the events economy and boost sports consumption

On October 16, 2026, the General Office of the Beijing Municipal Government issued the "Several Measures on Vigorously Developing the Events Economy and Promoting Sports Consumption," proposing to create "events+" diversified consumption scenarios. The measures include promoting deep integration of events with culture, advancing deep linkage between events and tourism, and strengthening coordinated development of events and commerce, and will study and introduce "ticket stub economy" preferential measures to create a "Super Weekend" city sports public service brand. The measures have currently been issued, and the related supporting preferential measures are still at the research stage.
