Meituan Homestay launches special registration feature for minors

On November 3, 2026, TravelDaily China reported that Meituan Homestay upgraded its check-in registration system and launched a minor identification and special registration feature: when the system identifies that a guest is under 18 years old, it triggers a special process to register the minor's name, guardian information and reason for stay; when checking in alone, the guest is prompted to provide a guardian's contact information for the host to verify. The report said that as of October 2026, Meituan had established cooperation with public security authorities in 23 cities across 14 provincial-level administrative regions, and the check-in registration rate in Lijiang had increased by 22% compared with before the system was launched. The feature is currently live, and there are no subsequent progress reports.
