US September Transportation Producer Price Index Rose Year-on-Year

On October 15, 2026, the US Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) published the September 2026 transportation producer price index. The producer price index for transportation equipment rose 2.6% year-on-year. In the same period, the transportation services producer price index by mode was: air +6.4%, rail +1.3%, truck +19.3%, water +19.3%, freight and cargo arrangement +3.6%; all services (including non-transportation) rose 6.3%, and transportation contributed 15.1% to the increase in the all-services producer price index.
