IATA Director General Says IndiGo Can Develop Long-Haul Routes Without Abandoning Low-Cost Core

International Airlines Group (IAG) CEO Willie Walsh said IndiGo can enter long-haul routes without abandoning its low-cost core, and believes it can use scale to generate connecting traffic without a hub model. The related concept is expected to be tested only after IndiGo's A350 deliveries in 2028. Skift noted that with record fuel prices and no hedging, caution is reasonable.
