Xinjiang Issues 15th Five-Year Plan for Forestry and Grassland Protection and Utilization

Reported on October 15, 2026, the "15th Five-Year Plan for Forestry and Grassland Protection and Utilization of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region" was recently issued. The plan proposes building a "three screens and two zones" forestry and grassland protection and utilization pattern, and developing desert industry, under-forest economy, ecological tourism, forest health and wellness, and other business forms; the Altai Mountains and Tianshan ecological barriers will respectively build ecological tourism, ice and snow sports, and forest health and wellness industry belts, and expand low-altitude economy application scenarios such as low-altitude sightseeing and drones. The plan proposes that by 2030, the region's forestry and grassland coverage rate be no less than 29.65%, and the total output value of the forestry and grassland industry exceed 100 billion yuan.
