Industry standard 'Service Guide for Desert Tourism Resorts' approved for project initiation

On October 29, 2026, the industry standard 'Service Guide for Desert Tourism Resorts' was approved for project initiation, with Ningxia Tourism Research Institute Co., Ltd., North Minzu University, and China Travel (Ningxia) Shapotou Scenic Area Co., Ltd. and other units leading the drafting. The guide covers three major sections: facility provision, service content, and safety assurance; in response to environments such as high temperatures and drought, frequent sandstorms, and weak communications, it makes special provisions for tourist services, transportation and accommodation, and emergency rescue. The report states that the standard will fill the gap of a national-level industry standard for desert tourism resorts in China. The standard is currently at the stage of approved project initiation; no reports have yet been seen on subsequent progress in drafting, soliciting opinions, or release and implementation.
