Airbnb and Amex Travel Exclusive Vacation Rental Partnership Launches

On October 22, 2026, American Express and Airbnb launched an exclusive partnership, allowing U.S. cardholders to book more than 1 million Airbnb listings worldwide on Amex Travel starting immediately, including Airbnb Luxe listings. A follow-up report the same day said U.S. card members can search more than 1 million Airbnb listings on AmexTravel.com and the newly added Homes tab in the Amex Travel App, and can earn up to 5x Membership Rewards points on prepaid stays. An October 24 report noted that this exclusive short-term rental partnership brings Airbnb into Amex Travel, an important B2B channel for Expedia; Expedia had not originally supplied vacation rentals to Amex Travel, so it appears unaffected on the surface, but Vrbo has begun supplying vacation rentals to other B2B partners, and the partnership blocks its potential expansion in that channel. An October 27 report said Airbnb has become Amex Travel's exclusive vacation rental partner, bringing more than 1 million listings to AmexTravel.com and the mobile app, and adding a dedicated Homes tab.
