China Releases January-August 2026 Services Trade Import and Export Data

On October 13, 2026, the Ministry of Commerce released China's services trade data for January-August 2026. According to an October 14 report by China Tourism News, the total services import and export value for January-August was 5,070.16 billion yuan, up 7.9% year on year; of which exports were 1,999.61 billion yuan, up 14.8%; imports were 3,070.55 billion yuan, up 3.8%; the services trade deficit was 1,070.94 billion yuan, narrowed by 145.12 billion yuan year on year. The report said that travel and transport services exports contributed nearly 50% to services export growth.
