Tongcheng Travel releases migratory bird residence migration data

On November 2, 2026, Tongcheng Travel released migratory bird residence data. The report said that since mid-to-late October, the popularity of routes to Hainan, Yunnan, Guangxi and other directions increased more than 50% year-on-year; search popularity for routes related to Sanya, Haikou and Xishuangbanna rose 124%, 107% and 101% respectively compared with mid-to-early October. Orders for stays in Hainan of 30 days or more accounted for a 13 percentage point year-on-year increase, and residence orders in small cities such as Ledong, Chengmai and Miyi accounted for more than 30% of total migratory bird residence orders. The share of young people aged 25 to 40 rose to nearly 35%, and their long-stay orders of 7 days or more increased 77% year-on-year. On November 3, Tongcheng Travel released the migratory bird residence dark horse destination list, and the above route popularity and search popularity data were cited again.
