Tripadvisor CEO and CFO to Depart Successively
Tripadvisor Cuts Jobs, Outgoing CEO Says Experiences Overhaul Fell Short
On November 5, 2026, Tripadvisor announced that President and CEO Matt Goldberg will depart after four years in the role and will continue to serve until mid-February 2027; reports on the same day said Goldberg will step down as CEO on February 16, 2027, and leave the board, an arrangement reached by agreement with the board, and the departure comes 16 months after Starboard Value took a 9% stake in Tripadvisor. CFO Michael Noonan will also resign, staying on until the end of December, and Kristen Dalton will serve as interim CFO starting January 1, 2027. Reports on November 6 said the company announced cuts to traditional hotel business positions in a global restructuring, and outgoing CEO Goldberg acknowledged that merging Viator with Tripadvisor's experiences team fell short of expectations, saying the integration's effect has shown in performance across sales channels over the past 12 months, with third-quarter experiences business revenue down 3%. The company is currently advancing the restructuring, and the CEO and CFO transition arrangements have been made clear.
