U.S. State Department: Maldives Level 2, exercise increased caution (terrorism)

The U.S. Department of State issued a travel advisory for the Maldives, advising increased caution (Level 2) due to terrorism. Terrorist groups may attack with little or no warning, potentially targeting tourist locations, transport hubs, markets and shopping malls, and local government facilities. Attacks may occur on remote islands, which can lengthen the response time of authorities.
