SITA acquires Big Blue Analytics to help airline disruption recovery

Air transport technology specialist SITA has acquired Big Blue Analytics, an AI-enabled disruption management platform for airlines. Its OCCam product evaluates the impact of disruptions on aircraft, crew, passengers, and maintenance in real time and creates recovery plans. Disruption costs a mid-size carrier with approximately 100 aircraft up to $80 million, and the technology aims to reduce that cost by up to 30%.
