Chad Travel Advisory Raised to Level 4: Do Not Travel

The U.S. Department of State raised Chad's travel advisory to Level 4 (Do Not Travel) and added a 'health' indicator. Reasons include crime, terrorism, civil unrest, inadequate health infrastructure, kidnapping, and landmines. Outside N'Djamena, the U.S. government has extremely limited ability to provide emergency services. Government employees require special authorization to travel outside the capital, and the embassy has imposed in-city restrictions.
