Report: 72% of APAC rail bookings now online, car rental at 47%

WiT's report 'Online Travel Tracker: Asia by Road & Rail' reveals that 72% of rail gross bookings in APAC were digital in 2025, while car rental online penetration is only 47%, expected to overtake offline by 2027. OTAs like Trip.com, Klook, KKday, and Traveloka are building direct rail API integrations across China, Japan, Korea, etc., with bundling and AI also driving ground transport online.
