Meituan Releases Mid-Autumn and National Day Travel Trends: Long-Haul and Multi-City Trips Rise

Meituan data shows Mid-Autumn and National Day flight bookings rose 44% year-on-year, with long-haul flights over 2,000 km up 76% and accounting for more than a quarter of bookings. Users booking two or more destinations rose 70%. Over half of travellers chose to depart before September 30. Shanghai-Urumqi flight bookings rose 235%, while Shanghai-Kunming and Beijing-Kunming rose 91% and 67% respectively. Connecting flights and air-rail transfers gained popularity for cost savings, with Beijing-Yuncheng air-rail transfers saving up to 70%.
