Trivago files antitrust suit against Google

Trivago filed an antitrust suit against Google, claiming it systematically favored its own hotel metasearch over competitors. The suit is based on Article 102 of the EU Treaty and German competition law, covering January 2014 to December 2025, and will proceed before the Regional Court of Hamburg. CEO Johannes Thomas said Google uses its search dominance to direct travelers away from other metasearch platforms, weakening Trivago's competitive position. Trivago seeks full compensation. Trivago also reported Q1 revenue of €142.9 million, up 15% YoY, marking a fifth consecutive quarter of double-digit growth.
