EU Prepares Law to Support Cities' Crackdown on Short-Term Rentals

The EU is preparing legislation, a central component of a forthcoming Affordable Housing Act, to provide a legal framework for authorities to manage short-term rentals and identify areas with housing market stress. The law would support local authorities in restricting Airbnbs and other short-term rentals. The European Commission is slated to discuss the mandate on September 9.
