Prince Harry Calls on Travel Industry to Put Destinations First

Prince Harry, founder of Travalyst, called on the travel industry at the Skift Global Forum to measure destination health rather than just traveler value or traditional business performance metrics. He said travel relies on healthy communities and nature, but overtourism and climate change put them at risk. According to the World Travel & Tourism Council, travel and tourism accounts for around 7.3% of global greenhouse gas emissions. His comments come amid a summer of extreme heat, wildfires, and drought that wreaked havoc in popular destinations.
