2024 Domestic Tourism Data: 5.615 Billion Trips, 5.75 Trillion Yuan in Spending

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism released 2024 domestic tourism data. According to sample survey results, domestic trips reached 5.615 billion in 2024, up 14.8% year over year; total domestic tourism spending reached 5.75 trillion yuan, up 17.1% year over year. Urban residents made 4.370 billion domestic trips, up 16.3%, while rural residents made 1.245 billion trips, up 9.9%. By quarter, Q3 had the highest number of trips at 1.512 billion, up 17.2% year over year.
