DRC Travel Advice: High Security Risk, FCDO Warns Against Non-Essential Travel

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advice for the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), highlighting severe security risks in eastern provinces and other areas, advising against all or all but essential travel. M23 rebels and Rwanda Defence Forces have captured Goma, Bukavu, and surrounding areas; airports have been attacked and commercial flights suspended. Risks also exist in parts of Kinshasa and near the Central African Republic border. UK government consular support is severely limited outside Kinshasa.
