Germany sets a travel spending record—sustaining it won’t be simple

Growth was supported by domestic demand and preference for higher-quality trips, but faces challenges from geopolitical conflicts and consumer confidence. Growth is expected to be uneven in 2026, with annual growth around 4% from 2027 if the Middle East conflict eases.
