Inner Mongolia establishes a working mechanism for the integrated development of railways and tourism

On October 30, 2026, the Transport Department of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, together with the Culture and Tourism Department and China Railway Hohhot and Harbin Group companies, issued a notice to establish a working mechanism for the integrated development of railways and tourism, promoting the deep integration of "railway + culture and tourism." The notice advances work in four major directions: tourism-oriented upgrading of railway infrastructure, enriching the railway tourism product system, improving railway tourism service levels, and strengthening operational support for railway tourism. It also proposes two-way sharing of passenger flow and transport capacity information between culture and tourism authorities and the railway sector, to achieve precise matching of supply and demand. The mechanism has now been established through the issuance of the notice, and related advancement work is still in its initial stage.
