Brazil's GOL flight cancelled for technical reasons
Nota à imprensa - cancelamento de voos no final de semana
On October 24, 2026, GOL flight G3 1979, operating the Porto Alegre–Salvador route, was cancelled due to an aircraft technical problem. On October 25, the Brazilian Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) issued a news statement regarding the weekend flight cancellation, stating that, because of heightened attention to flight delays and cancellations during the election period, there is currently no abnormality in Brazilian air traffic. ANAC stated that affected passengers are being rebooked onto other flights in accordance with the rules of the agency's Resolution No. 400/2016; passengers encountering flight problems should first contact the airline's customer service channels, and if unresolved, they may file a complaint through the Anac Passageiro platform.
