Railway Department Answers Questions on Standing Tickets and Rebooking Rules
无座票只能站全程?火车票改签能免费吗?铁路部门解答
On October 13, 2026, the railway department provided answers regarding standing tickets for travel and train ticket rebooking rules. The full name of a standing ticket is "no fixed seat ticket"; it is in the same seat class and has the same fare as a second-class seat. Passengers may follow the red, yellow, and green indicator lights under the luggage racks of Fuxing smart EMU trains to "sit when available, yield to the original seat," but standing tickets are not sold for first-class seats, business-class seats, or quiet carriages. Regarding rebooking, a ticket can only be rebooked once: more than 48 hours before departure, it can be rebooked free of charge to any train within the pre-sale period; after departure until 24:00 on the same day, it can be rebooked free of charge to other trains on the same day; rebooking to the next day or later incurs a 40% rebooking fee.
